On the newco thing I think it again comes down …

On the newco thing I think it again comes down to that accession vote.  (Question 1 of 3).  Were the clubs being asked to recognise A club (lower case) as Rangers or were they being asked to recognise THE Club (upper case) as Rangers.  I’m guessing a straw poll of 31 chairmen wouldn’t be conclusive as it depends how you ask the question.

Question 1.  Would you mind recognising this Club as Rangers (the walks like a duck arguement)?

Question 2.  Does anyone foresee any problems if we permit Clubs to isolate themselves from their clubs, specifically from their debts, but on the basic, unquantified, unsourced proviso that debt/money/investment are not intrinsically linked to success that said success should therefore magically be allowed to detach itself from the club for the sole purpose of staying with the, erm, Club.

What was was that about simplicity?

btw just on the Albion Rovers thing.  Was it not the case there that the young lad in question wasn’t registered at all as opposed to imperfectly?

regrettably easy to counter unfortunately.  Colin Bishop is clearly referring to the club (lower case) this legally identifiable thing that just so happens to have the letters c, l, u, and b in the title and the Club (upper case) to which they will identify as Rangers FC as and when the arguement suits them.

thanks again Rod.

Auldheid and AJ.  There is a further key distinction re your brown envelope analogy.  Auldeid refers to the “payer.”  Fundamentally that was us!  Their club and ours were just the mediums through which we transferred the funds.

Edit.  Phil says £365k.

So £400k ‘available’ to spend then.

To Comply or not to Comply ?

I see the Record article demands transparency from the SPFL and implies that the strength of feeling generated by Rangers* and its fans over the MacLennan issue cannot be ignored.

Alternatively if the Record could read its own article and realise the irony that its the fact the strength of feeling is being generated BY the Rangers’ support and not BY the actions of Mr Macglennan that is at the core of the problem.

Im not sure the fact its in BarL’s soon to be finest’s hand is the problem.

Its the fact that it was in his hand and he spent it.  That’s the problem.

SFA’s prescribed warm up exercises for Sevco’s Uefa tie.

Take that first finger and stre-e-e-e-etch it over the other one.

And repeat.
