    Ryan, you obviously know a lot more Rangers fans than me. Many of those I know are very firmly in the camp that HMRC etc are to blame. I even know a highly educated man who is utterly convinced senior people in HMRC are Celtic fans and that is the only reason they went after Rangers. Many bloggers at the time did peddle that view.

    It is with a mixture of sadness and anger that I view the sustained resentment and lashing out from leading Rangers fans groups towards others who did nothing wrong. However I do believe it has been encouraged by successive Rangers boards since 2012, simply because the fans are their major income source.

    I see the name Brian Kennedy being mentioned again. If I recall correctly he is a Hibs fan who was attempting to help because his wife's family is steeped in Rangers. He also seems to be far removed from the type of characters who have come and gone at Ibrox. He didn't make his fortune by throwing good money after bad, and I am certain he would have demanded Rangers live within their means. In short, he is not what the average Ibrox patron seems to want.

    The behaviour meets the description of fraud. In particular the proof offered at end of March.

    I imagine in that case CAS would be the last place King wants this to go. My money was originally on the SFA going for the 'we've taken the advice of senior Counsel and blah blah blah'…we know the rest. They would be 100% backed by the media were they to do that.  However if that is an option why have they not done so already? Has senior Counsel already informed them otherwise? Have Celtic informed them that if they do, then they will publish the damning evidence the Res 12 people worked so hard to establish on the club website? Celtic must still answer Res 12 via an AGM in any case.

    Do you think the SFA were of the same view as many fans, many in the media, that Rangers were simply too big to fail, that someone would step in and it just wouldn't be allowed to happen?

    Just heard it reported that the individual cheat known as Lance Armstrong, is unrepentant and wouldn't change anything. (Radio Scotland news item a wee while ago)

    ========================

    In the late 1980's and the 90's Rangers were supported by a Scottish owned bank to a level way beyond what any reasonable business case could be made for. In 1994 that same bank did all it could to put Celtic out of business for a fraction of the debt Rangers had. Roll on into the early part of the new millennium and Rangers were cheating the public purse out of tens of millions which went on for a decade. Between the bank money, and the money stolen from the public purse, Rangers enjoyed huge success. It was such a false position, yet they and their fans, and their huge number of media backers have the audacity to laud those days as one of the greatest periods in Rangers history. It was cheating on a scale never seen before in British football, but the right handshake and knowing the age of one’s Granny cleared it all as okay. It is quite incredible when those who appoint themselves as moral guardians of society have to answer to nobody at all, and believe no matter how corrupt they are they they always act with dignity.

    Only in Scotland…the same Scotland we are told by the ruling party is the most equal and welcoming country in the world. Words fail me….

    It's cup final day tomorrow, where a sell out crowd will watch Celtic go for a treble treble, with Hearts all out to stop them and win a trophy of their own. It's a showpiece end to the season and hopefully the weather will also oblige.

    So you would think that Scotland's biggest selling tabloid might be interested in this. However, a quick glance at their website has the top three football stories as:

    1. Rangers signing a player from Oldham.

    2. Rangers fans buying season tickets in record numbers (even more of a record than last year?).

    3. Why Steve Clarke's first act must be calling up Ryan Jack

    I too like the idea that football success is based purely on a meritocracy. Sadly though that is becoming less and less of a case. A glance at the two 'Champions' League finalists shows that to be the case. At the very least the tournament should be renamed.

    Couple of points on what's recently been posted. The colts thing is just about making TRFC more relevant – whether it happens or not – and people who give thumbs down without justifying them with posts arguing their displeasure are just cowards.

    ========================================

    I don't care if Colts teams are allowed or not, other than to agree that if it is genuinely viewed as a benefit to bringing on younger players, then it should definitely not be restricted to only two clubs. Any club that can afford it should be allowed a chance.

    In terms of Rangers and relevance it was a joy to hear the pundits on Radio Clyde tonight trying to justify how vital Sunday's Od Frm game is to Celtic. A lady caller offered the view the game meant nothing to Celtic but they were not having it. In my view it means very little to Celtic OR Rangers and anyone who tries to use it as a barometer for anything is clutching at straws.  I am also waiting for the Press Conferences before the game to hear some in the media somehow trying to associate Liverpool's incredible result last night with Rangers, just because of Gerrard. I guarantee there will be some sort of slavering nonsense spoken.

    That will be the same Alastair Johnston who ignored the fact Craig Whyte was found not guilty in a criminal court and went on TV the next day to say Whyte was 'guilty' of 'murdering' Rangers. That will be the same Alastair Johnston who was on the old Rangers board when they indulged in illegal tax evasion. Scottish football is as well rid of that charlatan as it is of anyone involved in the old Rangers mess.
