“STV did what STV always do on matters relating to their favourite club.”

Some poor wee lassie I've never seen before (although, to be fair, I seldom watch STV News) was wheeled out to front this load of bullocks at 2pm yesterday:

“Today's top story: HMRC admits that they overtaxed Rangers Football Club by over £50M.”

“The taxman originally claimed that the club's old operating company owed around £70m for using controversial Offshore Trusts, known as EBTs, to pay players and staff. The bill played a major part in the club's liquidation in 2012, but £50m could now be wiped off the tax bill after HMRC reportedly admitted overestimating its debts and penalties.

    That's according to the Times.”

    Forensic journalism at its best.

Other than McTominey playing for Man Utd I can't see what Monitoring was required for Scottish Football in either of last night's two games.  angry

Folks interested in the games will no doubt have had plenty access to the BBC, Sky and various other update sites and apps for the score.

    = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

    That's my point exactly, Wottpi.

There are, indeed, a plethora of ways in which folks who wanted to keep updated on the score/result could have done so, but  folks who didn't want to be updated because they planned to watch it later would have avoided those platforms, and wouldn't have expected to have had the beans spilled on here.

Shug, did it not occur to you that there would be readers of SFM who were recording the Ajax/Juve match, planning to watch it "as live" later?

Nope never occurred to me. So I guess they were watching Barca pump the man u shame.

It's disappointing, Shug, that you gave no thought to the possibility that posting an in-match update and revealing the final result might ruin many of your fellow SFMers' plans to enjoy the game on re-run.

If you're too young to have seen the iconic episode of "The Likely Lads" (where Bob and Terry try to avoid finding out the score in an England International match because they planned to watch the highlights in the evening only to discover, when settling themselves in front of the telly, that the game had been abandoned and wouldn't be shown), your thoughtlessness can possibly be forgiven, but if you're not I think that a charge of "Not Acting in the Best Interests of Scottish Football (Monitor)" might be laid at your door.

The Peepul will pounce on that interpretation of "Club", as expressed by a High Court Judge ( a Master, no less) down in that there London, in Englandshire.

One, er, Two Rules to Rule Them All
    Cluster One,

A few weeks ago someone on here asked for an update on "Resolution 12", to which Auldhead replied "When it happens, you won't miss it" or words to that effect.

The Resolution 12 website that you linked to is, or should be, a game changer.

In the RTC days, the correct response would have been either "Wow, just Wow" or "Chapeau".

Obviously I don't know whether RTC is in any way connected to the Resolution 12 group but, if not, he will surely be delighted with the forensic presentation they have produced.

    Well done to all involved.

Now, let's see what the SMSM make of it, eh. (Stop laughing at the back!!!)
