    Interesting article in the DR;

    "Jake Hastie the Rangers odd man out as winger suffers tracksuit mix-up

    The 20-year-old has been fitting in well with his team-mates but was sporting a different look from his Ibrox pals on Tuesday.

    By Record Sport Online

    Their preparation has been perfect for their upcoming tie against the side from Gibraltar.

    But Rangers ' kit provider Hummel appear to be still working their way towards match sharpness.

    Jake Hastie appears to be fitting in with the rest of the squad, he was the the odd one out when it comes to his training gear.

    The 20-year-old's jacket was the only one with the arrows pointing up on his left sleeve, rather than pointing downwards like the rest of his Rangers team-mates.

    And it's not the first time this has happened to Rangers' players in recent times, last season Ryan Kent wore a different shirt to that of his team-mates.

    Ryan Jack was another who suffered a fashion failure, after his strip was missing a badge last season in a Europa League game against UFA, with the Hummel logo also off the kit."

    A rather abrupt ending to the article there, and raises the question: "What was the point of the article?"

    A clue could be in the fact that no DR 'journalist' is putting their name to the article, as it's by "Record Sport Online".

    Which could mean it's a straightforward copy/paste instruction from Traynor.

    There has been much online mockery of the dodgy looking kit, so maybe Traynor felt the need to 'jokingly' address these inconsistent tracksuit / jersey markings etc.

    BUT

    this article is clearly laying the blame squarely with Hummel, making them look unprofessional and incompetent.

    Or, that Hummel – as a large sportswear manufacturer – has NO quality control whatsoever: it just punts out its products without even checking them, to make sure there are no defects, etc.

    If I worked for Hummel on the TRFC account I would be fizzing, (even more).  Hummel is already embroiled in all the legal drama around Ibrox and its 'difficult' sales channels.

    Now, TRFC is accusing Hummel of being incompetent in the production of clothing.

    I don't know where TRFC got its dodgy kit from.

    But, I don't think it came from Hummel, (I could be wrong of course).

    But regardless: surely Hummel will be demanding an apology – or a clarification – via the SMSM?

    Allegedly…King visited the English FA offices today.

    When nobody was looking he nobbled the windows…

    so the transfer window simply couldn't close later today…

    and the SMSM would have even more time to copy/paste additional, BS, fictitious bids from assorted English clubs.

    Well, TRFC could be looking for a MASSIVE, furry squirrel to distract the bears tomorrow morning…

    Bad Money?
    As we are subjected to all sorts of misreporting on all things 'Rangers' in the SMSM – and the league has only just kicked off…

    I have placed a few wee bets on a Danish team doing me a favour tonight.

    For purely schadenfreude reasons I will watch TRFC play in their EL tie.

    …because I think there is a real possibility that the 'Rangers' season will be effectively over by 9pm tonight.

    [And I absolutely agree that – in a perfect world – I should be cheering on any and every Scottish team in Europe.  I normally do, but since 2012 I want these particular cheats to lose every single game.]

    Fingers & toes crossed!

    A bit more 'meat' on the Morelos' bid indecision  in The DR;

    "West Brom's Alfredo Morelos transfer bid booted out as Rangers hold firm after 11th hour approach

    The Ibrox side have turfed out a bid from the English Championship side who have until Thursday at 5.00pm to sign players.

    By Scott Burns 23:45, 7 AUG 2019

    Rangers have knocked back a £10million plus approach from West Bromwich Albion for Alfredo Morelos.

    Midlands sources close to West Bromwich Albion have confirmed

    but it wasn’t enough to coax Rangers to the table.

    …"

    ======

    And for such a high profile Ibrox story, why did Jingle Jackson not get an "EXCLUSIVE"?

    …and it was conveniently released just before midnight, so less than 1 full day of public ridicule for the DR to endure for this PR p!sh story – until the transfer window slams shut tonight.

    Shirley, the bears must be laughing at these 'reports' as well?

    From The ET;

    "The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) are meeting next month to discuss possible sanctions against Russian athletes due to alleged inconsistencies in anti-doping data.

    The Scottish Sun [is] reporting that a potential punishment could include Russia being banned from the Olympics next year as well as missing out on Euro 2020, which could result in Scotland being entered into the competition in their place."

    If I was one of the RIFC/TRFC suppliers STILL waiting to receive any long overdue payments from Ibrox…

    and if I then saw the worrying RIFC accounts released recently – which also showed a c.£10M balance for all the suppliers…

    and if I recently read that in January the whole TRFC squad is off to Dubai for an expensive jolly and some winter training…

    and if I then read in Phil's blog that the recent £2.1M fundraising at Ibrox was to pay 'urgent' legal bills – and not other, outstanding supplier payments…

    I wouldn't be happy – at all.

    And with December year end rapidly approaching for most RIFC/TRFC suppliers – it's traditionally a time when you put in an extra special effort to recover any overdue customer payments.

    We saw it with Rangers FC in 2011/12: IIRC, a small legal firm initiated court proceedings for about £30K owed to them?  Rangers settled out of court – but the story still became public.

    I think we could see stories like that appearing soon for RIFC/TRFC.

    Which would be nice.  no

    UTH, a demonstration like that would be both tragic, and hilarious.

    And it might provide the Celtic fans with inspiration to produce a suitably appropriate banner too..  indecision

    Ex Ludo, why would Gary McAllister think of leaving Ibrox when he is within – potentially – touching distance of a league title – nevermind a LC medal?  indecision

    As an aside – and not that I'm on a commission with RT, honest comrade – but I watched a very interesting programme on RT called 'Renegade' – probably still on YouTube.

    Anyway on the current episode, it's the host with an ex-UK MSM journalist who is now independent, and a current UK University professor in journalism.  Debate was about lack of trust in MSM, etc.

    Couple of SFM relevant points I picked up;

    The journalist openly admitted that in the MSM she routinely copied/pasted several press releases daily for a variety of reasons, with lack of time and resources being top reasons.

    But it's the first time I've heard the term 'copy/paste' being openly quoted about UK journalism.

    The professor mentioned that UK MSM is "massively over represented" by a narrow demographic with a private school and Oxbridge background – and there is a propensity for groupthink.

    As we know, it's not just the footy journos letting us down in the MSM.
